At the start of the campaign, Kingmaker focuses on exploring the untamed wilderness and finding what secrets the land has hidden. This introduces some rules around navigating and fully exploring an area the size of Rhode Island and Conneticut (combined). When out in the Greenbelt, our fledgling kingdom builders can either navigate through a hex or take the time to fully explore it.

Exploring (per hex)

Secrets and forgotten landmarks dot the landscape of the Greenbelt. Taking the time to search the area and map it accurately may lead the party to stumble into these points of interest. Skill checks — typically Perception and Survival — against a given DC are required to find some locations.

Taking the time to explore and map a hex also grants each of the explorers 100 exp.
